As part of its ongoing cultural journey as a UNESCO City of Literature, Kahramanmaraş will host a special book analysis and discussion programme dedicated to the works of Alev Alatlı, one of the most significant figures in Turkish literature and thought. The event will take place on Saturday, 2 May.
This programme offers a deep dive into the intellectual legacy of Alatlı, with books provided by the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality to support the participants’ journey. Highlighting the city’s commitment to fostering a vibrant reading culture, the event also includes a special incentive: three participants will be awarded a trip to Cappadocia, bridging the literary exploration with a cultural discovery.
As space for this exclusive gathering is limited, the application deadline has been set for 27 April.
Throughout 2026, Kahramanmaraş continues to serve as a meeting point for intellectual dialogue. From spiritual tributes to contemporary book readings, the city remains dedicated to providing platforms where literature is not just read, but lived and discussed collectively.
