Racing for Good: “Social Impact Challenge ’26” Launches in Kahramanmaraş

May 8, 2026

In a bold step towards fostering social innovation and youth-led change, the Social Impact Challenge ’26 has officially launched under the leadership of the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality. Coordinated by the Social Entrepreneurship Centre (SOGEM), the program invites university student communities to develop projects that transform creative ideas into tangible social benefits.

The challenge is designed as a comprehensive journey, taking participants through stages of application, specialized training, and professional mentorship, culminating in a grand final. Applications are currently being accepted online until May 17, 2026, offering young changemakers a platform to address community challenges through innovative solutions.

Academic Guidance and Sustainable Vision

During the program’s introductory sessions, esteemed academics emphasized the pivotal role of social entrepreneurship in solving modern societal issues. The discussions highlighted how sustainable, long-term projects can create lasting value for both the city and the wider community. By empowering youth to think critically and act proactively, the challenge aims to establish a robust culture of entrepreneurship within the region.

Building a Culture of Social Benefit

The “Social Impact Challenge ’26” is more than a competition; it is a strategic initiative to instill a solution-oriented mindset in the city’s youth. By working in teams, university students are encouraged to collaborate and innovate, bringing a new dynamism to Kahramanmaraş’s social landscape.

As a UNESCO City of Literature, Kahramanmaraş continues to prove that the power of the “word” extends beyond the page, inspiring action and fostering a community dedicated to collective well-being and social progress.
